Meet Amanda Dimova of Dimovi Designs
by Gustavus Betts
The line includes shoes, of course, handbags, and leather jewerly that are girly, punky, yet also comes off as chic. Each item is super customized - from the adjustable straps to the more than 50 colors of leather available. Futhermore, each piece is so unique that it has its own serial number! Dimovi Designs are interesting and creative, with a hint of instabilty.

IN HER OWN WORDS:

Soul & Salsa: There are hundreds of designers out there, what makes you stand apart from the rest?

Amanda Dimova: How many designers do you know who handmake shoes in the USA? And, how many of those American shoemakers make fun shoes you'd actually wear out at night? And, how many of those shoes are comfortable that you would wear them all day too? Dimovi Designs uses crepe rubber for soles, which are skid resistant, shock absorbing, and completely eco friendly? The models [who wear my creations] are incredibly comfortable and chic, not what you hear often from designer shoe wearers. (May I quote Sarah Jessica Parker when she said in a January article in Glamour magazine how her designer shoes where excruciating to wear down the red carpet. "That's just ridiculous," says Dimova. Models who wore her wares at the 2010 PIN Show @ Union Station in the West End can attest to the comfort of her designer shoes.

"The PIN Show is a great place to meet fellow designers. It makes me feel like I'm not alone in the struggle against the "fast fashion," cheap, trashy, knock off clothing made in foul conditions overseas, with inferior materials," she adds.

Denver, Colorado director Neil Truglio is a filmmaker that enjoys the art of storytelling, and who believes that art is born out of some of the most unlikely places. We Are the Sea was created from humble beginnings - an independent record store in Boulder.
It would be at this particular record store where Truglio met his producer, cinematographer, and was introduced to the music of Iron & Wine. The storyline came together on a long stretch of road separating Boulder and the city of Denver - the director's hometown
